Hi, I’m Jennifer.
Maybe you found your way here because something is wrong — and you can feel it even if you can’t name it yet. Maybe you’re a parent watching your child disappear in front of you, slowly and quietly, and you don’t know what to do next.
I know that place. I’ve been exactly where you are.
When my daughter Heather was struggling with an eating disorder, I felt the full weight of what it means to love someone you cannot fix. I sat in waiting rooms I never expected to be in. I searched for someone who understood — another parent who could tell me it was going to be okay. I needed hope, and I needed it to be real.
That season changed everything about how I show up in the world.
Who I am
I’m Jennifer Hope Longenecker — author, certified mental health coach, and founder of Rooted Book Co., a faith-based and family wellness bookstore in Henderson, Texas. I hold a degree in Scripture and Theology from LeTourneau University, and I’ve spent years walking alongside women and families in their hardest seasons.
But mostly? I’m a mom who has been exactly where you are.
My faith is not a tidy, polished thing. It has been wrestled with, questioned, and held onto in the dark. I believe God is good — not because life has been easy, but because I have watched Him pick up the shattered pieces and make something beautiful out of the broken. He has seen the big picture, and it is good.
What I believe about you
You are not here by accident. You are God’s workmanship — loved, chosen, and called. You have a living hope, even when it’s hard to feel it. And you do not have to walk this road alone.
What I’m working on
My newest book, Held in the Dark: Finding Light and Hope While Supporting Your Adolescent Through an Eating Disorder, is coming in 2026. Written alongside my daughter Heather, it’s the book I wish someone had handed me in that dark season — honest, personal, and full of the hope we found on the other side.
It’s for every parent sitting in a waiting room they never expected to be in. It’s for every family that needs to know they are not alone.
Let’s walk this together.
Whether you found me through the book, the bookstore, or simply because you needed someone who understood — I’m glad you’re here. My mission is to help you move from shock to strength, from isolation to community, and from fear to hope.
You don’t have to find your way alone.
